Jackie Watkins Total Hip Replacement Anterior Approach with Dr. Kreuzer 2012
When I first started coming to your office in 2008, I was in so much pain due to Osteoarthritis intense in the left hip! On September 14, 2012, I decided to become pain free by way of recommended surgery using the Direct Anterior Approach with Stryker Navigation and with your anointed hands. You had encouraged me over the years to do this sooner than later; but being in denial I thought I could deal with it. I’m kicking myself daily for waiting as long as I did, I can hear your voice saying “I told you so”.
I was back at work Monday, September 24, 2012, without the use of a walker, crutch or cane.
Dr. Kreuzer you made my experiences at Memorial Bone and Joint Clinic a life-changing milestone that I tell everybody about! Thanks …

I recently had a total hip arthroplasty or as it is more
commonly known total hip replacement.
I have decided to tell of my experiences as a patient in
order to help other potential patients make a decision

I am an active man over 65 years old who still works in the
outdoor profession of yacht chartering and, whenever
possible, I walk my dog regularly.
The pain in my right hip crept up on me gradually until I
asked my general practitioner to organise an x-ray. This
showed some deterioration and arthritis in that hip but he
advised me to take some mild anti-inflammatories and not to
go any further at that stage.
The naproxen that was prescribed kept the pain down but
gradually over time this increased until I decided that I

With respect to metal ions etc, my father had two McKee – Farrar MoM THRs fitted when he was 56. These are the same metal as is used for the BHR (Birmingham Hip Resurfacing). He had them until he died 34 years later and never had any trouble with them. Nor any of the side effects people worry about from metal ions.
Obviously, anecdotes like this have no value as scientific evidence. However, it does show that problems will not necessarily arise.

“I am an active 70 year old man, but I have had my share of surgeries; heart and knee at a great medical institution, the heart surgery being very successful, but the second surgery for my knee wasn’t as successful at all. In fact, it didn’t go well, and the physical therapy that followed was even worse. My range of motion following surgery was dreadful.
But, thankfully, I found Dr. DePaolo and his staff. Even though I was not thrilled about having knee surgery again, one day after Dr. DePaolo performed my knee surgery, I had an incredible range of motion, and after 2 weeks I was riding a stationary bike and 1 month later, I was back to my regular road bicycling!
Dr. DePaolo restored my quality of life with minimal pain. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for him.” Charlie Clogston…
I am only Day-6 as I had my surgery on May 22nd at Apollo Specialty Hospital in Chennia, India. But as I sit here on the patio deck on a balmy night listening to the waves crash
from the Bay of Bengal, I still have 7 more days of recoup time ahead of me, I thought everything is super fresh in my mind (and I took copious notes to boot).
As for me, I am male, 54 years old, live in Stratford, Connecticut with wife who is an RN and our 2 dogs Gatsby and Guinness. I had never had any hip issues until last Winter, we had storm after storm and thought that I had tweaked my groin while shoveling snow. No big deal, it will go away on its own or a little Tiger Balm will do the trick. Well, weeks go by and perhaps, I believe I …

I thought I got an easy ride yesterday but no such luck today. I went into surgery at 11am yesterday. There were a few tears during the spinal block but then I was knocked out under GA. I woke up at about 4 pm with full feeling in my operated leg and a numb good leg. Panicked a bit that they had done the wrong one!! Anyway, I was very comfortable yesterday. Had morphine on tap and just drifted in and out of consciousness most of the day. I thought everything was fine ….. then I was sick ( they tried to get me up today but I fainted. I woke with half the hospital staring down at me and tubes and stickers all over me!! That was my low point. Were gonna leave the standing until tomorrow now. Blood pressure is 80/40 which is apparently very …
An attack of tuberculosis at the age of 12, left Kritika with a fused right hip, abnormal gait and difficulty walking. Six years later doctors performed a total hip replacement.
The tuberculosis infection caused the hip to fuse and made walking difficult. This type of fused hip is called ankylosis.
Surgery was performed by Dr. Murtaza Adeeb and Dr. Aniket Shah from Nashik Hospital in Pune in July 2013. The surgeons made sure the infection from the tuberculosis is under
The surgery was complicated due to the fused hip and took 2 1/2 hours. A polycarbonate/metal THR was used.

Thanks to a hip replacement, Ed Kennedy is back to being his “big kid” self, racing cars and playing mini golf with his family.
